Happpy almost 4th of July! I can’t believe I’m typing that. It’s been a while since I’ve actually gotten a blog post up on here because, well… life. It’s been a busy season full of changes, mostly good ones, that have kept me preoccupied during the week and on weekends. One of the most exciting changes is that Travis and I got engaged back in December (eeek!). Of course, there are some other awesome ones, but I can’t share quite yet. More to come on those. 😉
Some of these changes will allow me to devote more time to the blog, which I’m so excited about. I want this to be place that I can share with y’all and you can share with me. I want to help encourage you, inspire you, or even just give you something/someone to relate to. This is in some ways a celebratory post! Celebrating the start to an awesome summer, a new season in life, and having more time to spend on here.
Thinking of summer and preparing for the 4th of July holiday next week, I figured what a better post than to share a little outfit inspo for you. I love the 4th of July, not only to celebrate the country’s freedom, but to spend time with family and friends, enjoy a day on the water, eat some yummy food and make some memories.
This year, Travis and I are spending the first half of the week at my parents beach house and the second half down at his family’s lake house – two of our favorite places. And I don’t know about y’all but my goal for beach and lake vacations is that I want to feel comfortable in whatever I’m wearing but still look cute. That’s really why I love this look here! At the end of the day, I want to take the least amount of time to get ready so I can enjoy it with the people I love in the places I love. Ya with me?
Let’s first talk about this bodysuit from Free People that I’m in love with. It’s the perfect amount of oversized that makes you look effortlessly put together – even with your hair in a pony and bandana tied around it. Add a strappy bralette and your comfy and ready for an Instagram pic. And if you didn’t see my picture on Instagram the other day, you have to check out this tee I’m wearing here. I’m a sucker for oversized tees and I can guarantee you I’ll be wearing this AMERICA one from Shop Riff Raff all day on the Lake on the 4th.
I’d love to know what your plans are for the 4th of July holiday? Do you have traditions that you do every year, like watching the fireworks somewhere fun? Last year we watched them from the top of a building in NYC and it was pretttty awesome. Let me know in the comments below.
