Style Edit | Fall Date Night

I have a hard time deciding what season I love more, summer or fall. All summer long I’m a summer girl 100%. I live for easy outfits consisting of cutoff denim shorts and tees, but once Labor Day rolls around give me all the layers, cozy sweaters, booties, and jackets. Unfortunately for me, and likely you as well, those don’t pair that well with the 80+ degree temperatures we still have going on. Womp womp.

So, as I wait for fall to kick in full swing I try and wear things that are still fall-esque without them leaving me in a puddle of sweat when I’m running around the city. But really, if any of you have ever rode the subway on an 80+ degree day in jeans and a sweater you know it’s not ideal.¬†When I saw this mini dress with long sleeves made of the perfect lightweight fabric to transition from summer to fall I knew I had to snag it for events, work, and my favorite of all, date night.

Since Travis and I are finally getting to spend our weekdays together now that we are both in NYC, we are trying to stick to one date night a week. Date night doesn’t always mean heading out to grab a bite to eat, but when it does I love easy looks like this one that make me feel a little dressed up but still casual no matter where we go. I threw on my go-to Jeffrey Campbell Cromwell booties with it to finish the look! (They are SO worth every penny and go with just about everything). Once it gets a little chillier I will definitely pair it with a pair of OTK boots and to dress it up you can wear it with a pair of strappy heels – so versatile!
