#atthemoment was a series I had on the blog a couple of years back. I used it as space outside of Instagram to document current life happenings, including things you all were frequently asking about, anything that was inspiring me at the time, or just what I was loving or feeling.
I’ve been wanting to bring this back for a while as a mission to make 2020 more transparent, relatable, with easy to read content. I feel like this space is the best way to share more of my daily life with you all and where you can share your favorites #atthemoment with me as well!
What You’re Asking About
I’ve received a handful of questions about our bedroom rug! I haven’t shared it on it’s own, but you’ve caught it in some Insta stories. It was a SPLURGE, but I’m so glad we decided to buy it. It’s super thick, feels amazing under your feet, and has the most gorgeous hand-knotted detail. I wanted something to cozy up our room that was neutral, yet would be timeless, and feel good getting out of the bed in the morning.
I posted a picture of our kitchen table, chairs, and lighting fixture on Instagram a couple of weeks back and you all were dying to know where our dining chairs were from. I actually stumbled upon these chairs at my local Target. They weren’t even unboxed yet, but I could see the description and knew they were apart of the Threshold with Studio McGee line. They are amazing quality for the price and much heavier than I anticipated. If you’re looking for a statement-making black dining chair these are a must.
From the same post above our dining table was also a huge hit. Again, it was another splurge, but with a small space, every. piece. counts. I would say worth it 100x over!
This top has been a most asked about piece in the last two weeks. It’s perfectly oversized, not too cropped, and I love the color. Perfect for transitioning into fall. I’m wearing an XS.
What’s Inspiring Me
This is a new segment of #atthemoment where I want to start highlighting different things that have been inspiring me. From other accounts, to books, to music, etc. I’d love to know what’s inspiring you this week too!
The Home Edit – I’ve been obsessed with watching The Home Edit’s new Netflix series, Get Organized. I’m a big organization girl and with still trying to get things tidied in our new home. It’s been the perfect inspiration I needed to finish a few spaces. Get ready to binge, fellow Type-A’ers.
Jenessa Wait’s Instagram Account – I’ve been loving this account for faith based inspiration. I’ve even added one of her hand-lettered/painted graphics as a widget on my phone with the new iPhone update.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle – Courtney Shields shared this on her stories the other day and I purchased it right away. I’ve been feeling rather uninspired and frantic lately with things starting to pick back up with daily life, so I love that this book puts a focus on finding yourself, amidst all other responsibilities.
What’s On My Heart
As I mentioned above, I’ve been struggling with finding a balance recently with things starting to pick back up for me after having so many months at home with nowhere to go. With the titles of wife, employee, daughter, friend, sister, teacher, it’s been a challenge to start to find that balance again.
I want to really start living intentionally instead of spinning on all cylinders 100% of the time. It can make you feel a little out of control, frantic, and like you’ve never really accomplished anything when you do that. This is the prayer on my heart this week.
“Jesus, I am so grateful for all of the blessings in my life, but I have trouble navigating the balance of them at times. Help me draw close to you when I feel anxious and unsure about my priorities. Let me turn to you, making you a priority first, allowing me to better listen for your guidance of where my attention should be set. This is my prayer to you, Lord. Amen.”
I hope you enjoy this series. If you have suggestions for any other topics you want to know about #atthemoment please leave them in the comments below or drop me a DM on Instagram. I’d also love to know what you’re loving, what’s inspiring you, and what’s on your heart this week!
